The assumption that Antoni Jansen van Salee had lived in Salee because of the name is not necessarily valid. While sometimes a name would have a "van" reference indicating his last place of residence, but often times they would use a point of origin reference many generations after the fact.Mathijs Jansen van Ceulen(of Cologne) was b. at least 3rd generation away from the family home in Cologne. He was b. probably in Amsterdam...his father and grandfather in Antwerp. As to the property transfer...it would be best to dig up the original and see if "Jansen" appears in the primary source.Transcripts are wonderful shortcuts, but sometimes contain ommissions or additives.I have never seen a patronymic in any any of the original source documents I have seen about Ferdinandus, so I really can't say whether his father was a "Jan" or not.May be...maybe not.
