ha ha ha ha ha, I laugh only because when I started looking for my wife's line she pretty much thought the same thing. She at least though gave me a couple weeks to sort everything out.Her Williams line hasn't been too bad....I have back to her GGG Grandfather John Williams in the 1840 Ohio census and her GGGG Grandfather John Stringer in the Ohio census.Planning on ordering the Stringer Will this week to see what I can find from it.The Darrah line....well that has been a pain because of the different spellings.Glad the idea of the different spelling helped you out!My father, who has been working on the McDonald line for years, had a few years where he lost the family for about a 30 year time period.Turned out that the census folks changed the spelling from McDonald to MacDaniel.
But I think you're right, we're looking for 2 different lines. As it stands the line was mainly in the WV, Pa and Ohio area.I know that some of John's children spread out but as of the early 1800's they were pretty much still in the Pa area.
Good luck with your searching and thank you for responding to my post!If I ever come across a John Newton Verner I'll let you know.
Mike
