from an old messge on Vick board dated 1999:"Fatha Vick will found in Abbeville , South Carolina mentiones the following children. Jonas, Cullin, Sarah,Joseph, Benjamin, Wilson,& Howell. In 1850 Cullen Vick with wife Nancy, children Charles J. 11, and Joseph W. 7, lived in Lawrence Co. TN Is this your Cullen? Savle Vick was the daughter of Howell Vick and wife Winnie. She married Zachariah Matt Strickland in Lawrence co. TN and most of the Stricklands moved to Pope County Arkansas. In 1860 Winnie Vick said she was 55 but really about 80,(1850 census said 70) b. in N.C. She had two other daughters, Love Jane, and Eliza Cook."
I won't post the Strickland information, but from reading the materials it appears that the Abbeville SC Stricklands were from the Joseph Strickland line from Nash co NC and the Nathan Strickland who signed witness to the Fatha Vick Abbeville SC will above is on that Joseph Strickland line.Joseph Strickland (of NASH co NC) appears in the will of Mary Vick Sept 20, 1821 as she owned land adjacent to Joseph Strickland.
