Robert Nettles-b 1677- in Va or Maryland- died 1725- Petsworth Parish, Gloucester Va- married 1. Mary Brooklyn 2. Mary Vicars- d/o Rev. Thomas Vicars and Dorothy Pritchett- she b 1670- died 1745- They had 7 children apparently. Robert died and Mary bound out her minor children (14 yrs and under) in compliance with an order from Gloucester Co. Court 1728- There children are listed as: Robert Jr.- 1708- Vicars- b 1710- married Margaret ? John- b 1712 George, Sr.- b 1714- King & Queen, Va- died 1813-1820- Darlington Co. South Carolina. Married Catherine Elizabeth Cusack- (he was bound out to Samuel Coleman 1728)He later received a Kings grant of land, 350 acres land on Jeffrey's Creek. (same place Joseph Vickers received land) Mary- b 1717- died 1789- Cross Swamp, Colleton co. SC. married John Ponds. William- b 1718- moved into South Carolina (bound to Edward Wyatt) married Dorcas Marpole- He also lived in Edgecombe Co.- deeded to Calhorn or Calhoun Elverton, Elvington, as deed of gift, household furniture, etc. Solomon- b 1720- died 1813-1820 - lived Edgecombe Co. North Carolina/Sumter Co. SC- Solomon lived near Ralph Vickers Sr. in Edgecombe and is mentioned in settlement of the estate of Ralph Vickers who died 1763- "note from Solomon Nettles and Jacob Dunn to the exrs. - Sarah Vickers, Feb 1763."Solomon Nettles was also mentioned in probate of will of Thomas Harrell, 1763- as having lived adjacent Samuel Harrell- on Roanoke River in Bertie Co. apparently now falling in Edgecombe Co. on north side of Tar River. Children of Solomon livedin Edgecombe Co. and then So. Carolina. It appears the family of Thomas Vicars and the family of Ralph Vickers were connected, indicated by close proximity of these families- and connection to the Nettles family. does anyone have more information on these?
