Thank you Bruce!I appreciate your quick response.
I have a pedigree chart that was created in 1979 referencing back to Engelbertus. This chart, of course, may not be accurate.According to the information at the time it was authenticated. It states the following (information in parenthesis added by me through research)
Engelburtus Waldorf/ Gertraud Jongbloet
Cahtherine b. (25 Apr) 1734 -(1756)
Johann Nicolas b. (19 Mar) 1738
Henrich 26 Feb 1736 - (1790)
Annatje (b.1741)
Elizabeth (b. 1730)
Johann Wilhelm (b. 1724- 20 Nov 1807)
Henrich Waldorf/ (Anna) Maria Finehout
Christian (b. 27 Sep 1772)
Nicholas (b. 11 Nov 1764- 15 Nov 1847)
Johannes(b. 30 Sep 1769- 23 Oct 1857)
Peter (21 Jan 1779 -1780)
Elizabeth (no dates)
My current guess would be that Martin is a cousin, not a son.Do you have dates for Catharina?I've listed a "Catherine" as a child of Engelbertus, perhaps there was confusion as to her parents? Also, just as more of a side note.It was thought, in 1979, that a third brother may have come over with Engelburtus and Anthony.I have not seen any indication of this yet.
Also, I have in my record a Waldorf, J. William (Johann Wilhelm- son of Engelbertus?) who died 20 Nov. 1807 and is buried at the Dutchess County, Red Hook Lutheran Cemetery.Perhaps this cemetery has additional record to help confirm his wife and children?
