Anthony Walke, IV (1778 - 1820) of "Fairfields", Kempsville, Princess Anne, Virginia (now known as Virginia Beach in the far SE corner of VA) was one of a long line of Anthony Walkes. And each of those Anthonys had a son, Anthony (most also had a son, William who had a son Anthony).
He married Ann Livingston on 6/27/1811.I'm sorry, I have no further information on Ann Livingston at this time.
Your ancestor, it seems was a brother of mine, Susanna (Susan) Walke who married Charles Sheild/Shield.Anthony IV and Susan's parents were Rev. Anthony Walke, III of "Fairfields", Kempsville, Princess Anne, Va. (an Episcopalian minister at the Old Donation Church in Lynnhaven, Princess Anne, Va. and listed as a Patriot by the DAR) and Anne McCalley McClennehan.I know nothing more about Anne.Rev. Anthony and Anne had about 6 children:Anne M. Walke, Edwin Walke, Anthony IV (who, by the way, is buried in the graveyard at the Old Donation Church as is his wife.), Jane Eliza Walke, David Meade Walke and Susan Walke.Anne McClennehan Walke died in 1809 and Rev. Anthony remarried to Anne (Newton) Fisher (1774 - 1840).Rev. Anthony and THIS Ann had at least 3 children:John Newton Walke, Thomas Walke and Lemuel N. Walke.
The Rev. Anthony Walke was the son of Col. Anthony Walke, II of "Fairfields", Princess Anne, Va (1/3/1725 - 10/2/1779).He is said to be buried at "Greenwich" in Princess Anne, VA, but I have not yet found his grave. The Rev. Anthony's mother was Jane Randolph (1729 - 1756).He was the only surviving child of these parents. After she died, Col. Anthony remarried to Mary Mosely of "Greenwich", Princess Anne, VA.They had several children:William Walke, Edward Hack Walke, John Basset Walke, Mary Walke, Frances Walke and Anna Walke.
Jane Randolph was the daughter of Richard Randolph of "Curles", Henrico Co., VA and Jane Bolling (a great great granddaughter of John Rolfe and Pocahontas)Information on the Randolph family, the Bolling family and the Rolfe family is easily found both on the internet and in genealogy libraries. They were all three very prominent Virginia families. And there is a book of descendants of Pocahontas available from the Pocahontas Foundation and found in many genealogical libraries. Some lines of descent in that book are complete to the current day.(I was VERY surprised to see my name in that book!)
Col. Anthony Walke was the son of Anthony Walke, Sr. of Lynnhaven, Princess Anne, Virginia (1692 - 11/8/1768).He is buried at the Old Donation Church. It was he who built the estate, "Fairfields" on land left to him by his father.Anthony Walke, Sr. was a very prominent man of the community (member of the House of Burgesses, Judge of the court in Princess Anne - he was one of the justices in the case of Princess Anne's one and only witch).
He married three times. His first wife was Mary Sanford. They married 3/11/1711 in Princess Anne.Anthony and Mary Walke had a daughter, Margaret Walke. His second wife was Elizabeth Newton. They married after 1713 in Lynnhaven, Princess Anne. She died in 1724. They had no surviving children.Anthony's third wife was Anna Lee Armistead.(What WAS it with all these Anthonys that they had to marry Annes???They made research VERY confusing!)Anthony and Anna married on 4/4/1725 in either Princess Anne or Gloucester Va.Anthony and Anna had 4 or 5 children:Colonel Anthony Walke, William Walke, John Walke, Mary Walke and Margaret Walke.
Anna Lee Armistead was the daughter of William Armistead (1671 - 6/13/1711) and Anna Lee (1680 - aft 1754) of East Ware River, Kingston Parish, Matthews County, Gloucester, VA.William Armistead was born at "Hesse" in Gloucester, VA, the son of John Armistead and Judith Bowles Robinson.JOhn Armistead was born in Elizabeth City, VA in 1640 and died at "Hesse" in the 1690s.Judith Bowles Robinson was born in Yorkshire, Eng. in 1645 and died about 1700 at "Hesse".She was the daughter of John Robinson of Yorkshire (who died about 1700 in Virginia) and ???.John Armistead was the son of William Armistead and Anne E. Ellis. This William Armistead was baptized on 8/3/1610 in Kirk Deighton, West Riding, Yorkshire, Eng., and died bef 4/4/1666 in Elizabeth City, Va.Anne E. Ellis was born abt. 1615 in Giggleswick, Yorkshire, Eng. and died abt 1660 in Elizabeth City, Va.

Hancock Lee, 7th son of Richard the emigrant, actually had 3 wives.Mary Kendall was the second of these. The first was Martha Burwell, the third was Sarah Allerton.
Anthony Walke, Sr. was the son of Thomas Walke and Mary Lawson.Thomas Walke was born abt 1622 in Barbados (or he emigrated from England to Barbados ca 1622 from England). He died before 1/5/1693 in Lynnhaven, Princess Anne, Va.He married Mary Lawson abt. 1689 in Norfolk, Va.Mary Lawson was born abt 1665 and died in Lynnhaven, Va.She was the daughter of Anthony Lawson and Elizabeth Westgate.

All of these names, Fairfield, Kempsville, Lynnhaven, Princess Anne, can be found on a modern-day map of the city of Virginia Beach. Some time during the 1960s the county of Princess Anne, with its little towns encorporated itself into a city of many wards.
I suggest that you do an internet search for "Walke".Specifically, you're looking for the "Walke family scrapbook".There's a lot of interesting information in there about these Anthonys, who they were, what they did, where they came from.I think your Anthony, IV is in there as well.
Good luck in your hunt for family.
