Re: Thomas Benton Walker, Franklin Co. TN
I'm trying to find more information on the Hancock Co. IL Walkers. Some of them were related to my gr-gr-gr grandfather, Samuel Walker, who moved on to Jeff. Co. IA. Was Thomas H. B. Walker a son of Henry and Margaret Agnew Walker of Hancock, Co. IL. I have a Foster Walker, Thomas H. B. Walker, John B. and Ellen all in Hancock. A daughter Catherine died in 1854 at age 11. Henry was born 1808 in Ohio. He moved from there to Pontoosnc. He married in 1835 and they had five children or more. Henry and wife are buried in the Tull cemetery. Their marker has the name of John Walker born in Ireland 1708 and came to America in 1732. Also says Killed by Indians in 1778. Age 72 years. On the other side is Joseph W. Walker born May 8, 1765, died Nov 28, 1815. It's doubtfull either of these men were actually buried there. John Walker was the son of John and Katherine Rutherford Walker and was killed in VA by the Indians. All the above were buried at Tull. Because of the John Walker I am assuming these are descendants of John Walker of Wigton. DNA testing proves my gr-gr-gr grandfather was also a descendant. Any information on the family would be appreciated.
