Hi David, it's been 5 years since I posted that. I don't descend from Elverton but we had 3 Walker families in Nicholas and were trying to sort them out at the time. They all ended up having different DNA haplotypes. I know we had Elverton's descendants DNA, with Elverton P. being from Nicholas Co., (W)VA. He shows up in the tax records @ 1814 (I think) and lived there till his death. I think I remember there was one listing for Elverton in the Goochland Co., VA records, and though it was the same time period, no one wanted to say that they were actually the same person without doing the DNA testing. I have one friend who descended from someone from Goochland but her line had daughtered out. I don't remember who her furthest back ancestor was, but I can contact her to find out.
So we wanted to find out if someone who absolutely descended from William would match Elverton P. of Nicholas. I need to check the Walker DNA project and see if anyone has ever tested from his line but I'd be surprised if someone has. My cousin who has relatives from Eleverton P. plus my Seth Walker would have written and shared.
Can you document your line back to William?
I'll do my checking and see if we still need it and get back to you. I'm still very glad to hear from you. Sometimes one thinks these lists aren't used anymore.
