Tennessee Wallers who lived in Wayne County, Missouri

By Rhonda Houston January 06, 2009 at 10:39:20

Those Waller(s) that I have found living within Wayne County, Missouri, with a number
of Warmack/Wormack families living around them were:

George Waller - head of household b. 25 Jun 1805 Paw Paw Ford, Roane, TN
Mariah Butler Waller - wife b. 1809 TN d. 1851 Wayne County, Missouri married 1825 TN.
Children:
(1)Maley B. Waller - son b. 1831 Roane, TN d. aft 1860 Benton, Wayne, Missouri
(2)Jesse M. Waller - son b. 1833 Roane, TN
(3)Thomas J. Waller - son b. 1835 Roane, TN
(4)Martha A. D. Waller - dau b. 1836 Roane, TN
(5*) Mary K. Waller - dau b. Jun 1838 Hamilton, TN d. aft 1900 Woodside Twp, Oregon County, Missouri
This female Waller it is my belief, to have been
Richard W. Wormack/Warmack's third wife, after Mary Ann Polly Skiles, who
passed away in Dec 1861. This short, but productive marriage (between 1861
or 1862 that stayed in tack until 1869, producted a son, named Matthew Cero
Warmack, whose great, granddaughter has contacted me, who lives in Minnesota,
with what information she knew and had found through some of her own
research, asked me to assist her with finding more about her Warmack family,
who lived in Wayne county, Missouri. This was a surprise and has presented
itself as quite a mystery, with some very obvious facts found, with which I
can't prove.

In the 1900 census, I found Mary K. Waller Wormack/Warmack married to
William M. Delaney where Mary notes she had been married to Delaney since
1870, which was for thirty years, with only one child having been born.
However, her child, Matthew Cero Warmack, was born in 1863, and the marriage
date to Delaney, that Mary denotes was 1870, which seems to substanuate that
the year of 1869, that I had pinned down as the year after Richard W.
Wormack/Warmack had passed away in Wayne County, Missouri. But of course, I
have not been able to prove any of this because all the courthouses within
the Wayne County area have been burned down, which offers no substanuation
of this educated guess. I did also, find Mary K. Waller's grandson,
Clarence, whose last name was spelled 'Warmick' by the federal marshal,
instead of Warmack (which was the manner in which his father, Matthew Cero
Warmack spelled his name) was living at the Delaney's home as a 'boarder' at
age 11 yrs. old. Also, if you go down to George and Mariah's last child, I
can share some more interesting fact I found within the 1900 census.

(6)Nancy D. B. Waller - dau b. 1842 Hamilton, TN.
(7)Elizbeth E. Waller - dau b. 1844 Hamilton, TN
(8)Sarah Ann Waller - dau b. 1846 Hamilton, TN
(9)Texas Jane Waller - dau b. 1849 Hamilton, TN
(10*)Jacob Carlee Waller - son b. 02 Dec 1851 Hamilton, TN d. aft 1900 Greer, Oregon County, Missouri
who was found living two houses down from William M. Delaney and wife, Mary K. Waller Wormack/Warmack Delaney in the 1900 census, when Clarence Warmack (spelled Warmick) age 11, was listed as a
boarder within the Delaney's home, who I have identified as Matthew Cero
Warmack's (as he spelled it at that time) oldest child/son, who had to have
been Mary K. Waller Wormack/Warmack Delaney's grandson.

What I've learned about Matthew Cero Warmack is that he married Sophorina
Frona Nannie Bridgefort, daughter of J. W. Bridgeport and Marthey Goodlet of
Caldwell, Graves, Kentucky who were married in Graves, Kentucky, but had
been living in Missouri, not far from Wayne County. Sophorina was always
referred to a 'Nannie' in all but a couple of documents, and I learned that
she and Matthew traveled down to Louisana, after they were married to see if
Matthew could make a living cutting lumber within that area, which may have
been why Clarence was boarding at the Delaney's home. Later on, after all of
Nannie and Matthew Warmack's children were born within either Wionia,
Falling Spring, Oregon, Missouri, which I've been told is near Alton,
Missouri and within the area of Wionia, Falling Spring, Oregon, Missouri
they all left for the state of Oregon.

After returning from Louisiana, Nannie and Matthew took their whole family
(which was made up 16 children) to the state of Oregon. Apparently Louisiana
wasn't as productive an area in regards to lumbering and running a sawmill
as the state of Oregon was, which was where this whole Warmack branch
remained, with the expection of Clarence, their oldest who I first found
living in Oregon, and then later, back in Missouri, where he remained with
wife, Mary where all five children were born: (1)Infant Warmack who didn't
survive, (2)Thelma M. who was the Warmack decendant who contacted me,
(3)Charles M. Warmack who I know was born in Greenville, Poplar Bluff,
Missouri, but ended up living in Illinois, (4) Elmo Warmack who lived in
Granite City, Illinois, and (5) Rosalee Warmack who I know nothing about.

This Warmack decendant, who contacted me, knows very little about her
family, and would very much like to know more, if someone would share what
they knew.

And if anyone reading this, with this gathered information that I've
provided can put some pieces together for me, I would be gratefull, and if
they know anything about any of these relationships concerning the Waller
and Warmack family members, I would they please respond and enlighten me
with what you might know. Someone else besides myself would love to hear
what you have to say. Hope everyone had a great holiday and made some
memories to keep as well.

Respectfully,
Rhonda Warmack Houston
