I don't know anything about the particular individuals you mention above, but there is a large family of Walworths in the Groton, CT area beginning with William and Mary Walworth's emigration from England in 1692.
Have you tried the Walworth Genforum page?It's very likely that the extra "L" was added to the surname sometime between 1692-1769.If you post your message there, maybe someone who has a copy of the book "Walworth-Walsworth Genealogy, 1692-1962" can help you find your ancestors.(I have only the portions that pertain to my direct ancestors; I don't have the entire book.)
Also, if you have a World Family Tree subscription, the William above and his descendants (10-12 generations so far) are all over it, probably due in part to the publication of the aforementioned book.Maybe you can find a match there.
