Raymond Walrath of Herkimer?
My grandmother's maiden name is Walrath. My great-grandfather died when I was in 6th grade, and I never saw him much, seeing as I live in Rochester. I would like to learn more about the family. My grandfather was born circa 1906. And married an Emma (I do not know her maiden name). Though I'm positive they had more children, the only 2 I know of are daughters Margaret (my grandmother) and Dorothy (great aunt). I've been doing basic searches and didn't realize that Walrath was as common a name as it is. Here's what I know, although I don't know how it connects or if there is one...
1. Battle of Oriskany 1777, there was a Lieutenant Colonel named Heinrich Walrath.
2. I may have found my Great-Grandfathers World War I draft papers, but I can't be positive they were his.
3. World War II, a Raymond F., Bernard G., and James W. (Walrath) were vets.
I don't know if any of these fit together but I'm hoping that someone can lend a helping hand. I would like to come up with some form of tree for my grandmother and for myself.
Thank you all for helping.
