John B. Crook was the son of John Earnest Crook and Mary Ann Whetsell.John Earnest Crook and Mary Ann Whetsell were cousins.John Earnest Crook was the son of Benjamin Crook and Rachel Hutto.Mary Ann Whetsell was the daughter of John Martin Whetsell, Sr. and Margaret "Peggy" Hutto, sister of Rachel Hutto.
John B. Crook married Sara M. Wannamaker, the daughter of Peter Wannamaker and Ann Parsons "Nancy" Shuler.Sara, wife of John B. Crook was never a Shuler, but her mother was.
Ann Parsons Shuler was the daughter of John George Shuler and Rebecca Heanor Felder.Rebecca was the daughter of Abraham Felder and Mary Erlanger.Abraham Felder was the son of John Henry Felder, Sr. of Schupfheim, Lucerne, Switzerland and Mary Elizabeth Schaumloffel of Waldmorh, Kreis, Kaiserlautern, Germany [ present day Germany ].
John George Shuler was the son of Johann Daniel Shuler and Mary Barbara Ulmer.Mary Ulmer was born in Waldmohr, Zweibruecken, Germany [ present day Germany ].
Johann Daniel Shuler was the son of Hans George Shuler of Bibern, Ferenbalm, Bern, Switzerland and Catherina Anna Margaretha Saner.
Known siblings of Sara M. Wannamaker were Rachel, Adam, James Robert who married Lenora T. Whetsell, David E. and Fred Wannamaker.
Siblings of John Bascom Crook were Rachel M. F., Julia Ann Mouson, Catherine E., Sallie J., Jacob David, and William Martin Crook who I am sure was named in part from for his grandfather John Martin Whetsell.
John Ernest Crook had two known brothers, David S. Crook who married Celia Huff and William Benjamin Crook who married an Elizabeth unk.William died 20 Sep 1863 in Chickamauga, Georgia and left one surving son, Jacob William Crook who had 10 known children in what is present day Dorchester County, SC.
David S. Crook and Celia Huff had two known daughters one of whom married back into the Whetsell family and the other into the Dukes family of Orangeburg County, SC.
The John Ernest Crook family moved sometime after 1880 to Fort Motte area of Calhoun County, SC.John, wife and some of the children are buried in the St. Matthews Parish Episcopal Church Cemetery, Fort Motte, SC.
Would like to determine in a Henry Crook, born 1785, also of Orangeburg District, SC, is related to if not the brother of Benjamin Crook, born 1782 of Cow Castle area, Orangeburg District, SC.
One of the sons of Henry Crook, Lewis Edmond Crook, married the granddaughter of Anna Eva Whetsell, wife of Christian Carr of St. Georges Parish, Colleton District, SC. The Henry Crook family migrated to Smith / Rankin County, Mississippi between 1825 and 28 Dec 1837.
