It's not so messy if you know the Waples history. The Waples, Burtons and Lingos started out on the Eastern Shore together then moving up into Delaware. Their history may be traced back to Dover England prior to 1645 when they were all members of a church that migrated to the new world sometime during/after the English Civil War. Joseph Waples went to Texas from Delaware..the Lingos(Waples) to Missouri where they married into the Platters & Burtons may have followed as they are all family.
