John M. Warbington -son of William & Abigail
John M. Warbington served during the Seminole Wars. He was a Private in Captain Taylor's Company, Chisolm's Regiment, Alabama Volunteers, mustered in with his older brother Jacob, at Mobile, Alabama February 27, 1836 and mustered out at the same location May 27, 1836.
Spelling variations on those muster roll cards were: "John Wobington" and "John Washington.". Later Census records spelling variations: "Webbington."

Although John moved his family to Choctaw County, Mississippi before 1846, his 1850 census has not been found. By the summer of 1860, he has moved his household to Lauderdale County, Mississippi where he was enumerated among his Warbington cousins.
John's household ( # 78-78) is located inCentre Beat, P. O. Marion, Lauderdale County, Mississippi on June 22, 1860. His personal property is valued at $50. Seven of his children are presently at home: twenty-three years old Elizabeth, eighteen years old Mary, fourteen years old Permelia, twelve years old John, eight years old Lucinda, six years old George, and two years old Emily P.
He moved back to Choctaw County, Mississippi where, on July 20, 1870, his household is in District Two, "Post Office: Black Wells." They are located in Calhoun County, Mississippi for the 1880 census.
