Hi Christine
I'm sorry it's taken me so long to reply I have been away for a week.
Thanks for being kind enough to reply.
I am interested in Charles Wardman because I descend via his & Martha's daughter Elizabeth Wardman b abt 1837 in Bishop Thornton.
Elizabeth Wardman married her first cousin John Bradley Jr Dec 15 1864 at All Hallows, Bardsey.
John Bradley Jr was the son of Elizabeth Dodsworth (Martha's sister) & John Bradley Snr.
Elizabeth Dodsworth & John Bradley Snr were Farmers in Thorner and John Bradley Jnr inherited the farm on Carr Lane near the station and lived there with his wife Elizabeth Wardman and children. Their daughter Elizabeth Bradley (Lily) b Jun 22 1865 was my Gr Grandmother.
Also during the 1861 census Elizabeth Wardman was at her Uncle's John Dodsworth's Farm in Killinghall Moor, Killinghall as Housekeeper.
So I am interested in any information regarding any of my ancestors.
I have found Charles's children at several farms which I think they may have inherited:
John Wardman at Harrogate Grange Farm, Killinghall 1861-1881
George Wardman at Low Hall Farm, Kirkby Overblow in 1861
Charles Wardman Jnr at Paddock House Farm, Sicklinghall 1861-1901
Martha Wardman Jnr and husband Farmer Matthew Mawson at Wikefield House,Wike 1861-1871.
Do you link into this maze somewhere!!!
I do hope you understand my ramblings and are able to give me more information about Wardmans or Dodsworths.
