Suzie Wargo - Kuzma or Chasco/Chaco in PA
I am trying to track down the exact connection and origin of a Wargo relative.
I have this ancient photo of a woman who appears to be older than most kinds of dirt, dressed in garb I can only assume to be "old country".(looks like she's dressed in very rumpled black dress with a patterned shawl crossed in an X from her shoulders to her waist, with a babushka).
On the back it says Suzie (or Susie) Wargo.
I know who she IS.She's my great grandmother's grandmother.I can remember my g-gma pointing to this photo and talking about her when I was a girl.
What I can remember though, is useless... that she lived to be 100 and had multiple husbands (presumably not at once).
SO:To anyone who might be able to help me connect a Suzie/Susie Wargo to either the Kuzma or Chasco/Chaco lines, probably by the mid 1800s, and whose children settled in Western Pennsylvania, please write me.
It would be helpful if I could connect her to something. Is she g-gma's FATHER'S mother, or MOTHER'S mother?(i.e., did she marry a Chasco/Chaco or a Kuzma?)My money is on Kuzma.
Where in the world did she come from?I know some of the family was Czech, some was Austrian... but does that encompass her?I don't know.Maybe the outfit she's wearing would shed a clue if I knew how to read it.
I don't even know if she ever made it to the US, but I doubt it.My line finally moved to the US permanently during her grandchild's childhood.Doesn't seem to me that she was probably moved at such an advanced age.
Her grandchild was born in 1886, so that's all I have to give a range to her possible birth.
How pathetic is it for me to know who she is and still not to be able to connect her to anything?
Any leads out there???
