Re: Samuel Warshawsky ~1890
My maternal grandparents were from Kovno in Lithuania. Their last name was Warsofsky. I have seen the name spelled Warshawsky, Wershub, Wersherb, Warsof. In fact, my uncle's name was written Warshawsky on a 1930 census. I have also seen it spelled in several other ways. Have you come across anyone from Lithuania? My grandparents were born in the 1870's and were in the U.S. before the turn of the century. They settled in MA. My great grandmother's name was Dora. My grandfather had a younger brother named Samual and he was married to Sadie. Their name appears to have been written as Wershub. They had a child named Vivian. I don't know anything else about my grandfather's side.
