Waterman in NY

I am looking for a member of the Waterman family from the Chenango-Delaware-Otsego area of New York State.He was a Baptist Minister who eloped with Adaline Elwell (born 1837) sometime between 1855 and 1860.Adaline was living in the Chicago area about 1898.Any information on who Adaline's husband could have been would be greatly appreciated.
