Sorry if I violate protocols, But I'm new to the site.I did post his under Genesee County, NY also. Here it is:
Ron, I am a direct descendent of James Waterman, and I live about 4 miles from his grave on Thwing Road.Beyond the line in the Robert Waterman geneology saying he was a drummerboy, I have never been able to validate this information, other than word of mouth being passed down through my family. His future father-in-law DID serve in the Rev War, and I have found this documentation in other sources.I am having my doubts about James being a drummer boy, as Moses Bates' (his father in law)service was measured in days, rather than months!
James' grave marker is now nearly unreadable, as the surface has flaked off. From the late 1990's I did copy what was inscribed, "Sacred to the memory of Mr. James Waterman who died Dec. 9, 1824 in the 59 year of his age."
"Leave now my friends and dry up your tears, for here I will lay 'Till Crist Appears." -- I saw no reference about being a drummerboy.Have you found any additional information?Warmest regards, Jeff Waterman
