Mark and Caroline Watmore

By Mike Morris September 17, 2009 at 05:30:18

My great-grandmother’s sister, born Caroline Howe in 1825, was married to Mark Watmore. He was described as foreman of the engine smiths, late of HM Dockyard, Malta, at his children’s baptism in Swindon in 1869. I think that probably he had died in Malta and his widow and children had returned home. He was born in Hampshire in 1825. I think they had 6 children but 2 died young.
Caroline was innkeeper at the Fountain Inn, Devizes Road, Swindon for a while and one son became a hotelier in Emsworth, Hants.
Any further info would be very welcome.
Mike
