Hi Linda: Just noticed Bev Lumm's message. Bev and a gang of Watt descendantsare trying to confirm if John Watt on the prisoner ship "Johnson" 1745 was the father of Samuel Watt, who served with the Township of Plumstead, Bucks Co., PA militia during the American Revolution.
I'm not even sure if my Watts are related to these Watts. My gg grandfather was Thomas Watt b.abt 1840. Census records say he was born in IL and his wife Elizabeth Edwards was born in WI. They married in 1865 in Allentown PA and lived in the Slatington-Reading, PA area. Samuel Watt (above mentioned) had a son Gabriel, who had a son Elijah, who had a son Thomas born abt. 1840. I'm trying to confirm if this was my gg grandfather. Can't find any other Thomas Watts from IL circa 1840.
Don't know if we are from the same Watt clan. Let's continue to compare notes and see.
