John Adam Wattenbarger 1842
John Adam Wattenbarger born 1842, Washington Co., the son of Fredrick born 1810, Washington Co. is found in the 1880 census of Washington Co.Listed is his second wife, Eliza Good. They were married Nov-23, 1876.Also listed are the children. Fredrick, born 1867, Ill, my gggrandfather, Laura born 1874, MD, Hugh born 1878, Tenn, James born 1879, Tenn and William born Tenn.Fredrick and Laura were from the previous marriage to Eliza Leab. They were married July-12, 1866.1880 census confirms this as Eliza Leab is indicated divorced, living with her mother Sarah in Washington Co.She was the daughter of Dr. John Leab.
John and Eliza Leab had to have departed Washington Co. to Illinois for birth of Fredrick in 1867.Then went to Maryland for birth of Laura in 1874.Upon his return to Washington Co. married Eliza Good in 1876.
Would anyone have information to indicate why this family traveled so far to end up back in Washington Co.John's occupation is listed as a laborer.I have been told by other researchers that the Wattenbargers were miners. Are there other researchers who have knowledge of other Wattenbargers who went to Illinois or Maryland.
