sorry, I have been so busy going back in the line that I forgot to include the line forward to me.I am a native of Texas, currently living in Eureka Springs, AR.
Anderson Weatherbee (my gg grandfather) was one of the children of Moses & Sarah.Anderson was born in 1825 and married Betty Poole who was born in Mississippi (I'm still trying to find more info on her). One of their children (and I don't have records of any siblings) was Columbus Washington b. 12 Jul 1860 in Alabama and died 13 Oct 1949 in Commerce, TX (my birthplace).Columbus married Mary Susan Williams b. 27 June 1871 in Mississippi d. 29 June 1920 in Commerce, TX. They had 7 or 8 children (I only have partial documentation but recall others from my childhood). One was Columbus Wesley Weatherbee, my grandfather, born 21 Oct 1895 d. 28 Feb 1986 in Delta County, TX m. Pearly B. Grimmett. They had three children (my mother Rosa Lee Weatherbee m. Bryan C. Brewer) but only one son, Clarence Wilburn Weatherbee.Uncle Wilburn had three children, including two sons and Charles Wayne is the "C. W. Weatherbee" of my generation. He had a son Curtis Wade who may be the last of my direct Weatherbee name. The Weatherbee son and family moved to Toledo, Ohio in the early to mid 1950's and I'm not in close/frequent contact any more. Our family Bible/oral history went only up as far as Anderson and the rest I have gleaned from various sources.
Judging from my humble beginnings, it's obvious this line of the family migrated to Texas after the Civil War but I don't yet know when.I'm sure this is probably more than you ever wanted to know -- but it really is fun to connect.
