Susans brother Jacob F. Weatherwax had 2 children one was: J. Ensign or Ensign Weatherwax it is he and his father who visits the Inmans in Iowa.
Her father Jacob P. Weatherwax descends from the 1st generation of Weatherwax's born in N. America he was Petrus or Peter Weatherwax b:1752,d:1805.

The Inmann Compendium contains an excellent article on this couple provided by Richard Inman. My attempt here is to confirm many of his findings based on my own separate research.
What is interesting for those not doing New York Genealogy is the lack of a Vital Records law for N.Y. State until c1881.
Any attempt to find or identify vital data requires the use of multiple transcription sources or Bible records, Church baptisms, and local records. In many cases baptismal records do not indicate dob, only date of baptism. Often times this is the only positive proof of birth. Additionally depending upon the Church or minister at time only the year of baptism is recorded.
Also living in the Schaghticoke or Pittstown area of Rensselaer co was the Ketchum family. Petrus Weatherwax's brother Alexander Weatherwax m: Sybil Ketchum. Another brother in the area Jacob Weatherwax had a son that m: Mary Ketchum. And still another brother who moved to Clinton co NY had a son who m:Annis Ketchum in Clinton co. So there are many Weatherwax/Ketchum marriage, not all of which I have researched completely.
I will gladly answer questions on the Weatherwax family for anyone who is interested.
