Re: Clem and Clarence Weatherwax
please see my frustration and apology to William Brott on the Clement S. Studebaker/Weatherwax issue. Inow tend to agree with William. Prior to this I did not know that Amanda Brats sister Charity married a Studebaker, or that his name was Clement S. Studebaker. Now that William has finally gotten through to me I must admit that this is quite possibly the Studebaker/Weatherwax naming issue resolved. Once I relized what William said I did track the marriage of Charity Bratt and Clement Studebaker. Since they are married in USC1860, and Charity is missing and replaced by a new wife 10 years younger it confirms what William suggested. That Amanda Bratt/Weatherwax named her first son after her brother in law probably in rememberance of her sister.
Although I had trouble following Williams first emails, after reading all of them and checking on sister Charity I think William is quite possibly correct. Although we have no smoking gun document, we do have a reasonable connection now to the Studebaker side of the issue. And your Grandfather was probably Clement Studebaker Weatherwax as you suspected.
