For some unknown reason my grandparents went by the name of Wicker???? when they came from Kansas to Manitoba, Canada in 1899.Made my research a lot of wasted time as I was searching for WICKER......oh well!
Jester Edward's father (Charles) Christian Friedrich Carl Wecker b. April 28, 1826 in Potzwenden, Hannover, Germany and died at the home of Jacob Huffman, Mission Creek, Kansas. He married Carolina Grabe April 25, 1854 in LaSalle County, Illinois. She was b. June 8, 1840 in Hannover, Germany.
They had 11 children. Jester Edward, my grandfather b. April 30, 1855,Matilda b. 1858, August b. Dec. 16, 1860, Caroline Henrietta b. Jan. 26, 1863, Mary "Maria" b. April 24, 1865, "Alvina" Elousa b. All of the children were born in Illinois except William. He was born in Marysville, Marshall County, Kansas.
The Weckers migrated from Illinois to Kansas between 1877 and 1883. The Brunnenmeyers also but not sure what year for them either.
Charles's father's name was (August) Ernst Friedrich August Wecker b. abt. 1794 Germany. He married Wilhelmine 'Louise' Bleier May 17, 1818 Grob Lengden, Hannover, Germany. They had 5 sons. August and 4 of his sons came to America on the ship Brig Ella from Bremen to New York in 1850.They migrated to Peru, LaSalle County, Illinois. August's wife Louise and one son, Heinrich Wilhelm stayed in Potzwenden as a farmer there. He died in 1856. Louise died in 1851. It is not known whether August was going to get settled in America and then send for her??? Anyway the other 4 sons names were Frederick b. Feb. 14,1819,Henry b. Jan. 23, 1821,Wilhelm b.
