Hi Sandy and Judy --
I am very new to this, and I am looking for information --
My grandmother was Elizabeth W. Yochem (1881-1962), and I believe the W stands for Weiand. My grandfather was Peter Yochem (1878 - 1954).They are both buried at St. Pius Cemetery up on the hill, along with my uncle, William Peter Yochem, who died in 1939 as the result of a car accident. My aunt and uncle were Thelma Yochem Zasada and Edward Yochem, and my father was Gerard Yochem.
I never met my grandfather, Peter Yochem, as he died 3 months before I was born, in 1954.
My grandmother, Elizabeth, lived until I was about 7 years old, and I do remember her.Elizabeth was involved in a train accident (I think my Aunt Thelma told me it happened when she was a girl) and had to have a leg amputated.
I believe that my grandmother's parents were Jacob and Elizabeth, but I am not sure (I'm doing the 14-day free trial on Ancestry.com, but haven't been able to find out much.)
If either of you know about them, would you get in contact with me?I do have childhood memories of Cohocton and visiting Wayland (Ward and Jessie?) --
Please let me know if either of you are still there, as it has been a long time since you posted.
Thanks so much!
Marianne
