Looking for "Tom"
My grandfather is Aloysius Weimer, his parents were Jakob Weimer and Anna Maria Schlitt. They were from Dehrn, Germany and resided in Chicago until their deaths.
Back in the 90s my grandmother who was suffering from Alzheimers, lent the Weimer family bible to my cousin Mary in PA. I managed to retrieve it, but my research and all of the family photos were removed. Mary told me that if I wanted them back I was to talk to "Tom". I had no idea who Tom was, and I still don't.
I thought for the sake of family peace that I would try to recreate the records by piecing together information. Unfortunately, many German records were destroyed during WWII. When my husband and I were stationed in Germany I spent many hours combing through church baptismal records with the help of an interpreter. I pieced most of the information together by tracing siblings rather than direct lineage. I have been unable to recreate my records.
If you know who Tom might be, (or you are Tom!) all I ask is that I can have copies of the records and pictures. I'm sure he has no idea of the circumstances.
I would greatly appreciate any help!
