Dear Jim,
Since I sent you and Betty the papers proving that the father of Jonathan Welborn was not Curtis and Drucilla Welborn as your family had, but Edward Welbornand you have the Royal Land Grant and other court documents sharedin my newsletter and the family document ( that my cousin Susie Andrews collected up before you were born) I sent that included Jonathan Welborns children other than your Kinchen Welborn's line and his birthdate which was from his son's bible record which you dispute, and his marriage licence to his second wife,I see you have become well versed in your line of Edward Welbornfrom my research..
By the same token I have become well versed in Kinchen Welborn's line due to the papers you sent to me done by your mother for which I am grateful.
She was a careful and through researcher.
And all done without a computer. That used to be the way all research was done.
I have had a computer for five years now and have enjoyed meeting and finding all the new cousins to our lines.
No one person can do all the research in a family.Their hot wheels took them far and fast into the new frontiers of this new country. Many of the Wellborn's all varients have shared their records with me and will appear in the books. With due credit to them.
I would like to point out that not all of these records are available to computer researchers. I have written two books soon to be published as my health permits on these other records.I also plan to put into book form the many Welborn family letters from the 1800-1900's by earlier researchers many sent to me by others now deceased. These letters need to be preserved for their content to our families. They include many unknown facts on the Welborns and many dreamed up things.I have the very letter where they dreamed up Samuel Welborn and Mary Chapley back in the early part of the last century.
Nor can the papers be found unless one goes into the court houses and pulls the records. Some counties in GA did not allow the records to be microfiled nor will they allow them to be put into book form. Therefore the only way of knowing what is there is to go to the original records.
But I would like for you to cite "All the documents I've seen thus far on David only gives a middle initial of "M."
Please cite your documents.
I havethe court records of David Welborn my gggg grandfather from 45 years of research in GA , NC , VA, MD, and PA and would like to have these also.
And I have more that 30 pages that prove that his mother is MARTHA WELBORN all sworn court testimony-never Margaret .Margaret was his sister. Also sworn court testimony. You can read it in my book. From the real documents.Or it that is not your forte from the translation.
Thank you.
Carolyn Wellborn Haskins
