Jim, that is great info. Anything and everything you might have on Olin Orestes would be appreciated. I have good information on where he came from but he is the only brother I had no information on except that he was born and the note "he left home in 1889". The Wellborn clan from Ga. was in Denton Co., Ellis Co, Johnson Co. and Brown Co. during the late 1870 and 1880's. Olin O. had two brothers that stayed togather with their father P.M. until about 1900. In the 1890s they were in Scurry Co. ( Snyder Texas). P.M. , Olin O.'s dad moved with William Hope, his brother, to Abilene about 1905. The other brother Henry stayed in Snyder. His family later became very well to do as the land they homestesded in the 1800 became a hot bed of oil in the 1900s and they had a lot of it. Unfortunately I did not get to share. I was born in Brown County. We had lots of cousins around Zepher, Bangs, Coleman, Brownwood etc. I can trace Olin Orestes back to 1787 - hope you can take him from 1886 forward. My Grand father, William Hope named one of his first sons from his first wife, Lee Olin. Thanks for information.
