Welter (Welder) family
Looking for any information the Welder (Welter) family. First and only contact with them is in the 1840 census for York County, Penn. They are living north of York. There was the father, George, and mother and two daughters and two young sons. There are two olders Welders who had grown and were farmers in the vicinity.
My GG Grandfather James Osborn, married to Jane Eliza Cyphert and James' father Joseph, with several young people who I believe to be brothers and sisters headed for York to build wagons as that is what James was listed as doing in the census.
They were in York County, I believe to build wagons for the big migration push in the middle 1850's. Jane Eliza, it is believed died from child birth or just divorced and James met Rebecca Welder in York. James departed in 1843 for Ohio and Rebecca, sister Christina, and the sister's boy friend Benjamin Hoover, and two young Welders headed for Ohio after George Welder died. Do not the the Welder mother's name?
My main concern is finding out about the Welders family. Where they are from and when they arrived in America. I would also like to know anything about Jane Eliza Cyhert who was from Indiana County, Penn where she married my Great Great Grandfather James.
Thanks for any help.
