Hi Kitty,Just had to mention that I love my trips to Clayton.I live in Port Arthur.My WENDEL line comes from Frammersheim, Germany in the Rhineland.Daniel BLY has considerable info on our family in his "FROM THE RHINE TO THE SHENANDOAH"

Other deffinitions I have seen are:

WEND- To wend your way down a crooked path.

I think there also maybe something in there about Gypsy.

Some one told me wendel meant diaper - I have not verified that.
