John K. Sherk, married Elizabeth Light, born 2/26/1834 and she died 2/18/1900. She was born near Gingrich Meeting House (Mennonite) in North Cormwell, Lebanon, a d/o Abraham Light. Their children; Mary A. born in 1860 married John Wenger and had one child, Elizabeth; John L., born 10/6/1862 married Naomi Fry and had one child, Earl; Jacob E., married Emma Fritz and has 4 children, Charlie, John, Ralph and Jay;
Hans Wenger, great-greatgrandfather, came to America Sept. 16. 1748 in the ship "Paliena" Master John Brown.He bought with him his family,which consisted of 5 sons, 2 of whom are known to be, Christian and Stephen. Hans located in Lebanon county, and purchased land owned by a man named Shirrock, now spelled "Shirk"in 1740.
