Geri Brennan, I have additional information for you about Johannes "Hans" Wenger (my 5G grandfather). He was born in Berns, Switzerland in 1705 and died in Jonestown, Lancaster, PA on June 1, 1772.He was the son of Johannes "Hans" Wenger (born in 1685) and Hannah. He was married to Anna Sherk (born 1705) and they had 6 sons and 2 daughers. They settled along the Swatara Creek in Lancaster County. The names of his children were as follows:Stephen, Christian, Johannes (John), Judith, Maria, Henry (my 4G Grandfather), Abraham, and Martin.Henry settled in Oil City, Pa. on the west bank of Oil Creek and was the first white settler in Western Pennsylvania. He married a Seneca Indian, named Sarah.
As far a I can find, Johannes "Hans" Wenger who was born in 1685 was the son of Burkard Wenger and Maria Urffer.
