I think the area is Rochdale rather than Rockdale - then again I think your Peter is the son of Richard & Ann Whatmough and was Christened at St Katherine, Blackrod on 30th July 1820.

The subseqent birth place which have been transcribed as Horridge/Horrige on censuses is most likey: Horwich which is about a mile away
