He is the father of Malvina/Melinda Wheeler who married Benjamin L. Childers in 1860.His wife is listed as Elizabeth Wheeler (source: marriage register for Malvina Wheeler and Benjamin Childers).Elizabeth's maiden name may have been Porter (according to other family trees posted online).
I have located an 1850 VA census for Cabell County in which a William Wheeler is listed as the head of household with an 11-year-old daughter Malvina.I have not verified that this is the same Malvina or William that I'm looking for.If this is the same William Wheeler, the census lists his birth date at about 1794 in VA.
In 1870, Cabell Co., WV., I have also located a William Wheeler (same appx. birth date and location). He is living with a William Childers.
This is where it gets interesting. If this is the same William Wheeler I am looking for, then he would have been living in the house of his Grand-daughter's Step-Father, but before he became her step-father.However, I have the same surnames (Adkins, Childers, Morrison) marrying into each other's lines, so it gets pretty convoluted. But this would also mean that there may be an even closer family connection than I have found so far.
Any information would be really great. He possibly died in 1882 in Cabell Co., WV. (source: register of death for William Wheeler/spouse Elizabeth Wheeler/birth 1794).
