Hi, I am looking for the original Titus Brown, who gave evidence in the documents about original land grants and reportedly died 1816 in the Kingston Peninsula area of New Brunswick, leaving land to Titus Brown Whelpley, who was nephew to Titus.Titus Brown m. (dau. of Darling Whelpley) Martha Whelpley about 1786 in NB. His brother in law, Richard WHELPLEY ( b.1776) and wife Charlotte Gorham, named a son after this Titus Brown.another source says that Titus was a Major in some branch of the Loyalist military/militia.Your earlier post suggested Titus was from Windsor and a brother to Cornelius Brown.I checked that and found that those brothers went to Norfolk, CT and settled there.Titus Brown had a son, Titus Brown,Jr., who was the proper age for marriage to Martha , but he is shown as dying in Norfolk, CT. 1782.I thought that might be when they disowned him for siding with the Tories, but the Abstracts of Rev. Soldiers' Graves shows both father and son buried in Norfolk..I am requesting a copy of the will of Titus Brown from the PANB, hoping that will shed light on this mystery.Any help, insights or suggestions will be most appreciated. Thanks.
