Whisenant's in Alabama

I'm looking for any and all information on John Joseph Whisenant. Born 1881, not sure if it's GA or in AL. There was supposedly a property dispute that resulted in a house fire. John Joseph was the only survivor, sent to live with some relation with the last name of Oden, I've traced them, just can't seem to find any link between the two. I would like to find any and all information on either him, or the connection to the Odens. Anywhere along the whisenant line. I believe that if I can find the connection between the 2 families, I may be able to find his parents... and more.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
