Hi Raymond,
My name is Mary Lee (McClendon) Becker, and I just wanted to let you know that I have started new, grassroots, Whisenhunt Y-DNA Project. Here is a link to our new website:
http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/w/whisenhunt/http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/w/whisenhunt/
This project is open to all variations on our surname: Whisenhunt, Whisnant, Whisenant, Whisonant, Whisenhant, Whisanant, Visinand, and Visinant, or any others that you might recommend to me.
We are using Family Tree DNA as our testing company, as they have the most enourmous number of DNA test data, against which to compare our Whisenhunt test results.
But, I am letting people know that this project was started by me, and the project belongs to all of the Whisenhunts. I am the Group Administrator, and I see that as a role in which I assist the members in their Whisenhunt research. I do not sell test kits, nor do I make any money from the sale of test kits. I am strictly a volunteer. I do not work for any company.
I know that you are interested in using Y-DNA to document the desendant lines of the Whisenhunt family. So please consider joining our Whisenhunt Y-DNA Project. We would love to have you.
And also, thank you for all of your hard work in researching our Whisenhunts.
Please feel free to email me, if you have any questions.
Best regards,
Mary Lee
Descendant of Flora Eviline Whisenhunt, b. 25 Sep 1855 in Brewer, Pike Co., Arkansas, m. James Thomas Huddleston.
