HELP finding Barbara Whisenhunt b.1775

Hello,

I am searching for information regarding Barbara Whisenhunt who married Adam Whisenhunt b. 1769 in NC.Barbara reportedly died in fannin Co, TX in 1870.I am interested in her last name and also whether or not she was Native American Cherokee.

Any clues or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
