The WHISENHUNT family themselves were not Cherokee, but were early European white settlers who are well documented in both Colonial and Federal Records.
They (and allied families) had no had no connection with the Cherokee People until some members of the WHISENHUNT family married IN TO the Cherokee Nation in the latter part of the 19th century.
Sadly, it appears that some of the information has been "altered" to present a slightly less than accurate picture of the WHISENHUNT (and allied families) lineage/ family history.
I'd be happy to provide factual information, but I cannot support the "myth-information".
The Cherokee People also have a long, and extremely well documented history.
