I am going in circles on my husband's ancestors and would appreciate someone taking a fresh look at the records:
The FACTS: 1860 - CENSUS -JHO. B. RIED - POOLS MILL-TROOP,GA. H.E. (WIFE) CHARLEY - SON WM - SON JANE -DAU ELLA - DAU MARGARET - DAU JAMES WILDER (RILEY) SON
Other facts: John B. Reed (Ried) died in 1862 before the 1870 Census Charley - married and moved to Alabama before 1870. Wm - married and moved to Texas before 1870
THE PROBLEM I HAVE:
1. CANNOT FIND HARRIET (THE MOTHER) ON ANY 1870 CENSUS. I will accept that she may be deceased after losing her husband in 1862 and will to research on that.
2. I JUST CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY I CAN'T FIND THE 4 CHILDREN THAT DO NOT MARRY UNTIL AFTER 1870? EVERY TIME I THINK I HAVE THEM IN OTHER HOUSEHOLDS IT WILL NOT CHECK OUT TO BE CORRECT, YET THEY ALL STAYED IN GEORGIA AND MARRIED THERE SHORTLY AFTER 1870;
1. JANE - WHO MARRIED JOHN HESTER IN 1874 2. MARY ELLA - WHO MARRIED THOMAS HOWELL WHITAKER - 1875 3. MARGARET JOSEPHINE - WHO MARRIED HENRY WHISENHUNT-1874 4. JAMES WILDER (RILEY) - WHO MARRIED MARGARET WHISENHUNT-1879
I KNOW THE 1870 CENSUS ARE NOT AS DETAILED AS SOME OF THE OTHERS, BUT I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE I AM MISSING ALL OF THESE PEOPLE.
