I am descended from Asa's sister, Sarah, who married John Waggoner in Martin County, Indiana in 1829.I have their parents as Seth White, born 1792 in New York (probably Cortland County) married Esther Haskins in about 1806, and died in Martin County 24 April 1840.He is buried in the White Cemetery there.Esther was born about 1794, probably in Pennsylvania and died about 1888 in Martin County, is buried in the Inman Cemetery.
The children were:
Asa, born 1897, Homer, Cortland County, New York, died 5 March 1881 Martin County
m. Nancy A. Holtsclaw 4 December 1834 in Martin County
Sarah, 1814 Homer, died before 1870, m John Waggoner 24 December 1829, Martin County
Lavina 1819, Martin County, died about 1863, m. Eliphalet Haskins 28 January 1839 Martin County
Frederick 5 April 1820, Martin County, m. Sarah Cocheren 18 August 1842, Martin County
Belinda 1821 Martin County, d. 1852 Martin County, m. James R. Steel 20 December 1840 Martin County
William 1827 Martin County, died after 1870, m. Mary J. Watson 1853 Martin County
Esther 19 November 1835 Martin County, died 9 July 1890 Martin County, m. Joseph VanMeter
Mary White 1841
Esther is shown in the 1850 Martin County Census in Rutherford Township with William, "Hester" and Mary in household 54.Next door are James and "Belinda" Steel. In household 57 are Eliphalet and Lavina Haskins, household 59 are Asa and Nancy White with 11 children, ages 21 to 1.
This pretty much all I have found on the White and Haskin lines.
Mary
