I am seeking information William White, a free African who lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.William White was a member of the Free African Society and a founding member of the African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.William White served on the Vestry of AECSTfrom 1792 until April 1818. According to the Baptism Register kept by the Rev. Absalom Jones, William White and his wife, Rachael, presented their son, William, to be baptized on January 8, 1808.
