Diane:Thank you very much for your most prompt response to my inquiry about Samuel Whitmore.No, I really have very little information about his origins although family lore has it that he or his parents were either from the Palatinate or Switzerland.Several of my cousins and I have been working fruitlessly for years to try to uncover info about his birthplace, parents, etc.He moved to PA in about 1810 or so and married a Susanna Oberkirsch (Overcash) and had a number of children.Two of his sons moved to northeastern Ohio in about 1851, and he and his wife followed.There they rest.Again, thanks for your response.
