Roy:Several of my cousins and I have been searching for years for the birthplace and parents of my great, great, great granfather, Samuel Whitmore (1790 Va to 1866 OH). He claimed in 1850 PA census to have been born in Virginia; that's all we know.Is there any possibility of a connection with the Frederick Co., MD Whitmers as far as you can tell? We're pretty sure the family name was spelled differently prior to his generation. Any help you can provide would be GREATLY appreciated.
