Wiebke/Wilckens/Sell, GERM or LUX
Please Help! I am at a dead end with my GG grandmother.
According to my aunt, Juliana Wilkens came from Luxembourg. That was the only thing she could tell me. However, another family member searching claims it was Germany.
Juliana was born 1-11-1835 (in ?) and died 8-5-1871 in New Holstein, Wisconsin. She married Jurgen Sell 4-20-1858, and is buried in the New Holstein City Cemetery. She and Jurgen had 7 children-- Wilhelmina (my Ggrandmother), John Friedrich, Herman Christian, Emma Dorothea, Charles F., George, and Margareta.
Jurgen remarried after her death to a Margaret Wohlenburg.
Lately, I found more information that seems to point to Juliana's father being a Frederich Wilckens (the C seems to point to a Benelux rather than German connection.) His spouse had no first name, but her last name appears to be Wiebke. I do not know if they emigrated to the U.S. or not.
If anyone has any information on this family, please share with me before I pull my hair out by the roots! Thanks!
Laini
