WIERMAN obituary, Arendtsville, Adams Co PA
Mrs. ANNIE WIERMAN, 80 years old, died on Nov 17 at her residence in Arendtsville, Adams County. A daughter of SOLOMON and ELIZABETH (TONER) MYERS, she was born April 3, 1854, about three miles southeast of Hanover, in West Manheim Township, York County. As a resident og Latimore Township, Adams County, near York Springs, she was married Feb 19, 1880 at New Oxford, Adams County, by the Rev. W.F.COLLIFLOWER, to JOSEPH E. WEIRMAN, son of JOSEPH and SUSAN (WIERMAN) WIERMAN of Wierman's Mill, Huntington township, Adams County, near York Springs. Mrs. MAUDE WIERMAN KENNEDY, of Wierman's Kill, is a niece. In 1862 Mr. WIERMAN enlisted in Company I, 127th Pennsylvania Volunteer infantry and took part in the battles of Chancellorsville and Fredericksburg. A miller by occupation for over 18 years, he owned and operated the old Roth mill on Conewago Creek, Butler township. In 1903 he retired from business, removing to Arendtsville where he died April 14, 1917. Mrs. WIERMAN is survived by one daughter Miss ELZA O WIERMAN who lived with her mother; a brother JOHN T MYERS of Moylan PA (father of ALBERT COOK MYERS the historian, secretary of the Pennsylvania State Historical commission), and two sisters Mrs. SUSAN DULL, now of Cashtown, widow of JOHN A DULL, and Mrs. ELIZABETH A DETTER of Bendersville, wife of WALTER E DETTER, as well as a number of nephews and nieces. The deceased was a member of the German Reformed Church. Interment beside her husband in Fairview Cemetery, Arendtsville.
