Re: 1830 IL Census - Wilcox data?
Betty:Here isinformation that I copied from the Historical Society in Abilene Kansas:
Rebecca Wilcox born 19, March 1829 in Clark Co., Ill> daughter of Amasa and Margaret Wilcox:She moved with her parents to Rockville twp, Will Co, which later became Kankakee co;she married 3 times; by her first husband she was the mother of Ithamar Gay; she and Ithamar were living with her parents in 1850 census; by her 2nd husband she was mother of Sanford Franklin who was an early settler of Dickenson county (Abilene, Kansas) She and her children were living with her parents in 1860 census; by 3rd husband she was the mother of Effie Stevens and Ida Mae Stevens.Ida Mae married Frank Stroade.
Ida May Stevens Stroade was my great grandmother. Her son, Art Stroade was my grandfather.
I think the family originally came from Vermont, but I can not document that.I guess Amasa would be my ggg-grandfather. It seems like I had some information on Margaret - Rebecca's sister, but I can't locate it.
Are you related to Margaret - Amasa's daughter?
