Re: John Wiley / Margret , Mis. AL,NC
I'm trying to figure out if this is the same James Wiley as James A. Wiley. James A. has been very elusive.

I know the following about James A.:
He was in the town of Hall, Lauderdale County, Tenn. around the turn of the Century, as he filed for a Confederate pension from there.
He served in Co. H of the 2nd Mississippi Cavalry as Regimental Adjutant. This leads me to believe that he moved to Tenn. from Mississippi.
I can't find him in any Tennessee census records (I only have access through the 1880 census).
He apparantly had a son or grandson named Ewing Baxter Wiley, who was the father of the famous Southern historian/author Irwin Wiley.
Irwin Wiley moved to Hattiesburg Mississippi in the 1930's.
What I really need to find is a census with James, showing his children.
